My Lineo contact left the company months ago, and recent news isn't encouraging[1]. If no one steps forward, I'll see about getting a d.o list. I may become one in the future, but that's not a certainty. I may package hinfo and/or mod_access_rbl, (both on my web site) and would look for a sponser at that point. My spam filters are pretty strict. One list I was hosting left because of my policies. relays.osirusoft.com, ordb.org, and block.blars.org are used to filter incoming mail. The latter had all of earthlink on it for 6 months, and now has yahoo. It's a 384k sdsl line, shared with all my other stuff. (Shouldn't be a problem.) I've got listar installed, but not realy in use at the moment. (Most of the lists I set up are inactive.) It's been renamed ecartis, and debian seems to have it packaged under both names. Since I just noticed a security alert on listar.org, I'll file a bug if noone else has. If there's a better list manager for debian woody, I could probably install it. I am a cultural anthropologist working on my dissertation research on the free software movement and have been trying to interview as many Debian developers in person as possible over the last six months for my research. I have just managed to finish interviewing all the Bay Area folks and have interviewed a handful of other developers in Chicago, NY, and some others who have passed through town. I am now heading south and would like to interview developers in the "greater" LA area who might be interested. I have already made arrangements to meet with a couple of developers and will have time to meet a couple more during this visit and more during a future visit this summer. I will be in LA/San Diego from April 25-30th and will probably return in July. The interview is basically a "programming life history" oriented around your experiences programming over the course of your life (and in different contexts) and your thoughts about participating on Debian, intellectual property, DMCA, community, etc. etc. Please email me if you are interested or have any questions.
